Workshop on Integration of AI and OR Techniques in Constraint Programming for Combinatorial Optimization Problems, Ferrara, Italy

In recent years, an increasing number of researchers, from both the Operations Research (OR) and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) communities, have investigated the possibility of integrating methodologies of the two fields in order to obtain better results in solving combinatorial optimization problems. In this context, Constraint Programming (CP) may be proposed as a suitable environment for performing and experimenting such integration. CP was born as a programming paradigm exploiting AI Constraint Satisfaction techniques. Nowadays, most industrial CP tools and systems have integrated efficient special purpose techniques from OR for improving propagation and overall system performance. The aim of this workshop is to enable researchers working in the two fields to exchange ideas and methodologies and to show that the integration of techniques from AI and OR can lead to interesting results on real-life applications.
